URN: urn:nbn:fi:csc-202402000273186

Mahti was a supercomputer geared towards medium to large scale computations and simulations.

Service description

Mahti was a supercomputer designed for large parallel jobs that require high floating point CPU performance and a capable interconnect. Mahti was also suitable for small to medium scale computational tasks that were able to use full nodes efficiently. AI workloads were supported on its GPU partition. Mahti's compute power was provided by approximately 180 000 CPU cores and 96 Nvidia Ampere GPUs. Mahti resources were provided as full CPU nodes to maximize performance.

Puhti and Mahti are replaced by Roihu

Puhti and Mahti supercomputers were decommissioned in 2026 and replaced by Roihu, CSC’s next-generation supercomputer offering enhanced performance and capabilities. Puhti's computing services have been shut down 31 July 2026 and Mahti’s computing services have been shut down on 31 August 2026
